Recently, Romex Investments has taken a significant and bold step in the hotel industry. As of November 1, 2023, Romex proudly became the new owner of the oldest hotel in Westendorf, Hotel Jakobwirt.

The vision of Paul de Römph

Since the acquisition, we have been eagerly anticipating this new chapter. From the outset, Paul de Römph has emphasized his ambition to elevate the hotel to new heights. On April 2, we embarked on the renovation works, marking the beginning of an exciting new adventure. Through the renovation, we aim to give the hotel a fresh look and feel, providing a luxurious experience for our future guests.

A luxurious experience: renovation plans in detail

Currently, our interior specialists, Egbert Ketelaar and Lindsay de Römph, are diligently selecting high-quality materials and fabrics while designing the layout of the hotel. Their expertise and attention to detail will play an essential role in creating an ambiance that will continually surprise future guests. At the heart of the design process lies the preservation of authentic elements of the hotel, such as the stunning wooden ceiling. The style approach focuses on achieving an accessible yet luxurious, modern, and warm atmosphere, incorporating materials such as natural stone and wood.

The renovation plan encompasses the transformation of all 45 hotel rooms, each receiving a completely new look. From beds to bathrooms, floors, furniture, painting, and wallpaper, almost everything will be renewed to achieve a warm, luxurious, and authentic ambiance.

Renewal of the restaurant

In addition to refurbishing the hotel rooms, the renovation plan also includes other areas of the hotel. The restaurant will undergo a makeover, aiming to create a blend of hospitality, warmth, and coziness, allowing guests to enjoy delightful dishes and drinks in a charming ambiance.

Wellness and relaxation

The wellness area will be transformed into a space where guests can indulge in luxury, comfort, and tranquility. Space will be allocated for a Finnish sauna with a stunning panoramic view over the wellness area. Additionally, a Turkish steam bath will be installed. For a refreshing experience, guests can enjoy the “erlebnisdouches.” The swimming pool will remain in the same location but will receive a modern touch. The wellness area will be a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a hot sauna or a refreshing swim.

Exclusive access at the VIP Bar

Another remarkable highlight of the renovation is the VIP bar, which will be located in the basement. The aim is to transform this space into a place where future guests can relish delicious cocktails and great music. We strive for an authentic and chic bar, where style and elegance take center stage. Expect stunning eye-catchers and impressive wine cabinets that enhance the atmosphere of the space. The exact details of the bar renovation will be kept as a surprise.

Future reopening

During the summer season of 2024, Hotel Jakobwirt will remain closed to continue the renovation plans. We aim to reopen the doors of the hotel by the end of the year, allowing future guests to enjoy a new and refined holiday experience that exceeds expectations.
